Fill A Backpack 2012

Our young learners need you. The number of children living at or below the federal poverty rate has grown faster in Colorado than anywhere else in the nation. One of the most important factors in bringing children out of poverty is education and academic success. A Precious Child’s Fill A Backpack program strives to maximize academic potential for disadvantaged and displaced children by ensuring they have the supplies necessary to start school prepared to succeed. A Precious Child would like to ask you to sponsor our Fill A Backpack program. We need your help.

Thousands of volunteers help fill backpacks with school supplies which are distributed to children in need through our partner agencies including social services, shelters, foster care associations, schools, fire departments and human service organizations. In 2011, our program distributed more than 3,200 backpacks filled with schools supplies valued at $160,000 to children in need. We anticipate providing more than 4,000 backpacks filled with supplies this summer.
