Inspiring Minds provides access to STEM-based activites to children visiting the Resource Center.  (Previously known as The Learning Center)

How does it work?

In The Learning Center, we aim to provide academic opportunities to every disadvantaged child who utilizes our programs by supplementing their current education with evidence-based educational programs and materials. The Learning Center assists in closing the academic achievement gap for Colorado's most vulnerable children, and addresses the increasing importance of STEM-related education as it pertains to the growth of future jobs in our economy and meeting 21st Century skills.

How can I help?

  • Make a financial contribution to The Learning Center's efforts. With your monetary support, these students can continue to have access to updated, STEM-based learning materials that will enhance their success.
  • Volunteer your time in The Learning Center to mentor and assist our students!
  • Donate new books, Legos, Magna-Tiles, Tinker Toys and other STEM-based learning materials.

Why The Learning Center?

The Learning Center is the newest program of A Precious Child designed to ensure that every child who comes to shop at The Resource Center for their necessities is provided with a safe space that encourages fun learning and supplements their current classroom education. The Learning Center includes a computer lab, reading corner, and STEM-based educational games. Created in 2013, The Learning Center aims to improve academic outcomes, attendance, and standard testing scores for the vulnerable and low-income children we serve. STEM-based materials will help a child improve academically, increase their chances to graduate alongside their peers, and graduate from post-secondary education as a thriving member of our workforce. Materials and software available to kids at The Learning Center will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Reading, Writing, ACT/SAT Prep, and English as a Second Language (ESL) through eight computer workstations.
