Our giveArts program provides new and gently used equipment and supplies as well as participation fee scholarships giving children in need the opportunity to participate in music, dance, theatre and the visual arts.
How does it work?
giveARTS provides new and gently-used equipment and supplies as well as participation fee scholarships so all children have the opportunity to participate in music, dance, theatre and the visual arts. Children ages 3-5 from lower socioeconomic families who receive music and attention training in small-class settings improve nonverbal IQ, numeracy, and spatial cognition. In addition, students who study art are 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement . Despite these important improvements, art programs have been reduced or even eliminated in many schools. Children in low income families are far less likely to have the opportunity to participate in arts instruction outside of school due to the cost.
