The giveSPORTS program provides new and gently-used sporting equipment to children who otherwise would not have the proper equipment to participate in a sport. The value of playing sports is immense and should not be reserved solely for those who can afford the expense of sporting equipment. “The truth of the matter is that there are kids here in our community who do not have access to the proper sporting equipment necessary to play sports,” said Michael King, Chair of the giveSPORTS Committee and Executive Director of Broomfield Soccer Club.  “Our intent is to help even the playing field, by providing kids in need with a chance to get in the game.  We all know that kids who are active and engaged in extra-curricular activities such as sports do better in school.”

Stan Garnett, Boulder District Attorney added, “The giveSPORTS program will help provide a path to healthy living, good citizenship and deter children from entering the criminal justice system.” 

Marcelo Balboa, an Ambassador for giveSPORTS said, “I'm involved with giveSPORTS because I think all kids deserve an opportunity to play organized sports no matter their family circumstances.  I've seen the difference sports can make in the lives of disadvantaged kids and I know this program can have a significant impact here in Colorado."
