Carina Martin had a vision of providing basic essentials for all Colorado children in need. In 2008, she started A Precious Child to do just that. As the founder and CEO, she is dedicated to realizing that vision every day. Carina's knowledge of the business world, coupled with her passion for service, inspires the community, partners, staff and volunteers to work together on a mission to help disadvantaged and displaced children. Carina was awarded the Channel 7 Everyday Heroes Award, the Channel 9 Who Care Award, Heart of Broomfield Award, and the Community Champion for Children Award from CASA of Adams and Broomfield County. Carina serves on the board for the Broomfield Workforce Center, Broomfield Health and Human services, Broomfield Youth Recognition Award, and the Tripartite CBSG Board. Additionally, Carina was nominated for Outstanding Woman in Business through the Denver Business Journal. She is a member of the Advisory Board for GuideStar. Carina attended Western Washington University where she studied Business Management. She worked in the retail management industry for 14 years.

            Britta Robinson has a passion for serving underprivileged children in Colorado, and she puts it to work through her strategic and operational responsibilities at A Precious Child. She oversees all activities regarding staff, programs, organizational growth and execution of mission. Britta has served as the Executive Director since 2014, having first been the Director of Development in 2012 and then the Associate Director in 2013. Prior to joining A Precious Child, Britta was an Account Manager for a boutique ad firm in Chicago and then worked as a Marketing Consultant for the Colorado Chapter of Susan G Komen for the Cure. She spent a year working for Kaiser Permanente in Clinical Informatics and Decision Support. Britta has a MBA from University of Denver and she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Miami University where she specialized in Marketing and Organizational Communication. Britta lives in Denver with her amazing husband, Drew. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in Mali, West Africa from 2005—2007, and is currently a volunteer for the Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue.

Coming to A Precious Child in 2010, Courtney Wickberg worked as the Clothing Bank Manager and was promoted to Client Services Director a year later where she was responsible for overseeing all of the activity at the Resource Center. In 2012, she was promoted to Director of Programs where she is now responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of A Precious Child's eight programs. Courtney graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a major in Organizational Communications and a concentration in Marketing. Prior to A Precious Child, she worked at a nonprofit in West Palm Beach serving as a Child Advocate and Program Associate for children living in poverty. Serving others has been a priority and passion for Courtney since a young age. Growing up as a missionary kid, she had the privilege of traveling around the world and serving those most in need. She currently lives in Denver with her fiancé and their adorable dog, Foster.

Nicole Salter was hired by A Precious Child in May 2014 after being an Advisory Board Member for two years.  Nicole is responsible for helping to manage fundraising activities and special events, working closely with businesses, individuals, foundations, and charities to procure sponsorships, donations, in-kind donations, as well as, cultivating donor relationships, prospect research, and gift and pledge processing. Nicole is also directly involved in the marketing and public relations of A Precious Child.  Nicole has previously worked for Holy Family High School as the Director of Development and has a deep background in Event Management and Fundraising.  She has worked with a variety of organizations to help increase fundraising revenue, improve donor relations, and consult on events. Nicole has always had a strong desire to help and make a difference.   Nicole graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Operations. She resides in Thornton, Colorado with her three children.

Andrew Lindstad

              Andrew Lindstad joined A Precious Child as the Manager of Grants and Evaluation in 2014, where he is responsible for governmental, foundation and corporate grant funding and developing uniform data collection compliance and quality across the organization. Andrew received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wyoming and his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs. Prior to joining A Precious Child, Andrew was a project coordinator at Colorado Nonprofit Association from 2010-2013. Andrew currently serves on the board of directors of MCC of the Rockies and is a member of Rocky Mountain Arts Association.

Emily Simones

                Emily Simones joined A Precious Child as the Event and Volunteer Coordinator in August 2012.  She was responsible for managing and recruiting all individual and group volunteers at A Precious Child in addition to planning, implementing and executing all fundraising events.  In February 2014 as the organization continued to expand, Emily transitioned from this dual role to become the Development and Marketing Manager. Prior to A Precious Child, Emily worked as a Walker Coordinator for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer where she recruited participants, conducted informational meetings and trainings, and assisted with individual fundraising plans for participants.  Emily graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a degree in Public Relations.  Emily is passionate about serving families living in poverty and helping fulfill A Precious Child's mission and vision.  She lives in Denver with her dog, and volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Jim Anthony joined A Precious Child as the Director of Finance in 2014 and oversees the fiscal and accounting functions. He provides fiscal support to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors and ensures accurate, up-to-date fiscal accountability and compliance with applicable government standards. Prior to joining A Precious Child, Jim worked in the commercial banking field for 15 years before making a career change to nonprofit management in 2009. He is an ardent believer in our responsibility to care for the disadvantaged and is thrilled to be part of the team at A Precious Child. Jim holds a bachelor's degree from CU Boulder, and master's degrees in nonprofit management and accounting from Regis University.He lives in Denver with his partner Andy and their two dogs.

Sandy Hartgens

Sandy Hartgens joined A Precious Child in November 2013 as the Resource Center Director. She is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Resource Center and manages all Resource Center activities regarding client services, donation intake/sorting, and partner agency relations. Prior to A Precious Child, Sandy was responsible for managing and providing training to an executive team and the client relations department of a corporate 500 restaurant chain. In addition, Sandy spent 20 plus years with WNYW- FOX TV as a camera woman and floor director. Sandy attended the Southern Institute in Birmingham, AL and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Stratford, CT. She is passionate about bringing a brighter future to children in need and works diligently to promote collaboration and teamwork. Sandy currently lives in Broomfield with her husband and her children.

Kris Phillips joined A Precious Child as a volunteer in 2009 and assumed full responsibilities as Office Manager and HR Director in 2011. She is committed to making an impact in kids' lives any way she can. Prior to A Precious Child, she was office manager/executive assistant for the Denver Scholarship Foundation providing need-based scholarships for Denver Public School students to attend higher education institutions. In this position, she coordinated several fundraising events and student celebrations. Prior to her role at DSF, she worked at Storage Technology Corporation supporting the CEO's office where she assisted in planning and implementing customer forums, executive strategy and leadership conferences, and employee events.

Kenna Little

           Kenna Little joined A Precious Child in 2013 and as the Store and Client Experience Manager, she oversees the daily operations of the Resource Center's clothing store, assisting clients with their shopping needs and ensuring that all basic essentials are well-stocked. She is responsible for communicating with clients, coordinating all client-related information to the staff, and translating for Spanish-speaking clients. Kenna has been incredibly active in the community, holding various positions as an Adaptive Recreation guide, outdoor trip leader, medical translator, and international teacher. She has always been passionate about working with children and she loves being able to connect with the families that come into A Precious Child. Kenna graduated from Whitman College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish. She lives in Denver and loves skiing and backpacking.

Lorena Robles is one of the longest standing employees at A Precious Child, having been with the organization since 2010. As the Client Services Associate, she collaborates with other staff to ensure that the client experience is comfortable and that each client is treated with respect. Lorena also ensures that each client receives fair access to all the services provided by A Precious Child and that they leave feeling dignified and empowered.  Before coming to A Precious Child, Lorena worked as an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Tutor in school Dist. 50. She has always desired a career in the non-profit sector because she is driven by the meaningful work it provides. She is currently working to earn her Masters in International Relations and Arabic.

Phillip Archbold

Philip Archbold, the Receiving Manager, joined A Precious Child in 2013. In this position, he oversees the acceptance, processing, and preparation for the store floor of all in-kind donations received by donors. He also manages and organizes the daily activities for individual volunteers and volunteer groups. He originally came to A Precious Child as a Grant Writer and Evaluator Intern. Prior to A Precious Child, Phillip worked as a Cutco Salesman through Vector Marketing and as a Research Assistant through Campus Corps at Colorado State University. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, where he concentrated on at-risk youth and adolescents. Phillip is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Tau Sigma National Honor Society. Serving and helping others is one of his greatest passions. In his free time, he enjoys reading and being active.

              Ann Marie Mathias, Community Outreach Manager, began her involvement with A Precious Child as a volunteer in March 2013. She transitioned to become a Client Services Associate in November 2013 and, by 2014, she had assumed full responsibilities as the Community Outreach Manager. As Community Outreach Manager, Ann Marie not only coordinates in-kind donation drives throughout Colorado, but also interacts with donors, volunteers, and community supporters to enhance A Precious Child's community presence and involvement. Prior to her employment with A Precious Child, Ann Marie worked as Operations Director for Nestle Corporation, where she managed all facets of operations including logistics, strategy, training, and inventory, and as the Director of Client Services and Partnerships for Active Network, where she handled the day-to-day operations of client management.She is dedicated to the A Precious Child mission and a firm believer in the importance of empowering children to achieve greater success.

                Laura Stom joined A Precious Child in July 2014 after moving to the area from upstate New York. As Volunteer Manager, Laura is responsible for working with all volunteers throughout the organization including individual and group volunteers, ranging from school-aged youth to corporate level. Laura previously worked in the field of volunteer coordination at a mentoring organization, supporting adults matched with youth in one-to-one friendships.  Laura believes in the gift of service and she looks forward to meeting with volunteers, both new and active.  Laura graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport with a degree in Health Science.

          Becky Torres began working at A Precious Child in April 2013 as a volunteer bilingual Client Services Associate. She quickly transitioned into her current Agency Liaison role because of her strong organization and communication skills. She is a dedicated supporter of non-profit organizations and has always sought out opportunities to help children in need. Prior to her involvement with A Precious Child, Becky worked for United Brands, Banco Rio de la Plata and for a family-owned injection molding business. Becky is essential in establishing strong relationships and communications between A Precious Child and its Agency Partners. In her 32 years of marriage, she has moved domestically and internationally 14 times.
